It’s been reported this week that Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined fellow Premier League side Burnley in the chase for highly rated Hamilton Academical youngster Jamie Hamilton.

The young 17-year-old is described as a ball playing centre-half and although he’s yet to make a senior appearance in the Hamilton first team, he was on the bench for them in their 3-3 draw with Livingston recently and he’s also the captain of the Scotland Under 17 side.

The original report seems to stem from the Daily Mail and they claim that a bid of around £800,000 would be enough to secure the players’ future and tempt his club into doing a deal.

With some references to Manchester City and England international John Stones in terms of his playing style, we have apparently already had him scouted rather than just relying on word of mouth and he’s already a regular for their higher Under 19 age group, enjoying some outings in the UEFA Youth League this season.

Would seem to tick all the right boxes for us you would think.
